Critical Incident and Bereavement Support

Critical Incident and Bereavement Support

The EPT will respond to requests for support from schools prior to, or as they become aware, of a critical incident. Support may be provided either by telephone or on site and include advice on:

  • Communicating with children, staff and parents;
  • How best to support children and staff throughout the school day;
  • Normal responses to grief and how to manage these;
  • Managing subsequent days
  • Signs to look out for that indicate a need for professional support.

There is currently no cost for support from the EPT following a critical incident.
